Problem

The factory manual for the car is a scanned PDF that nobody wants to read on a phone at the side of the road.

What was built

The same manual rebuilt as an installable web app: searchable, dark mode, works offline, with the illustrations cleaned up.

My role

All of it — reworking the source PDF, the Astro PWA, and the Vue plus Laravel equipment-code decoder built into it.

What makes it interesting

The PR-code decoder turns the sticker in the boot into a readable list of what the car actually left the factory with.

Result

A manual that opens in a second on a phone and installs like an app, instead of a PDF nobody scrolls through.

Polo6R.pl is an innovative virtual owner’s manual for the Volkswagen Polo 6R in Polish language, transformed from the original paper manual and designed as a Progressive Web App (PWA) using Astro. This website offers a user-friendly, accessible alternative to traditional PDF manuals, with AI-enhanced images (for improved sharpness & clarity). The source PDFs behind manuals like this can be reworked with my free online PDF editor.

Users can access detailed vehicle information online or install the manual for a native app-like experience.

Used Technologies

Challenges

The page includes PR-Code decoder which is an equipment code decoder, built as a component in Vue3 and integrated with a site using Astro. The integration with the REST API utilizes a backend in Laravel.

The website features an automatic deployment system integrated with Netlify, utilizing GitHub for seamless updates. Every change I push to the GitHub repository triggers an automated deployment, so the site is always up to date with the latest improvements and content.
